5. Tax-Free Limits & Specific Thresholds

Key Exemptions & Triggers

  • Principal Residence Room: Exempt if gross receipts < €760/year (guest rooms only).
  • Minimum BIC Allowance: €305 minimum. If calculated allowance is less, €305 applies — meaning gross income < €305 is effectively tax-free.
  • Professional Trigger (LMP): Receipts must exceed €23,000 AND exceed other professional income of the household.
  • Exceptional High Income (CEHR): 3% extra on income > €250k (single) / €500k (couple); 4% on income > €500k / €1M.
